MOD of 0.3m (11.8in) Opens New Possibilities such as Tabletop Photography
TAMRON has accepted and overcome the challenge of shortening the MOD so that photographers can enjoy greater freedom when composing images. By optimizing the optical design, close-distance shooting that was possible only with manual focus on the 1st-generation model is now possible with autofocus on the 2nd-generation 70-180mm F2.8 VC G2. Compared with its predecessor Model A056, TAMRON has succeeded in shortening the MOD to 0.3m (11.8in) at the 70mm end and 0.85m (33.5in) at the 180mm end. Plus, the working distance at the 70mm end is as close as 12cm (4.7in). This expands the possibilities for expression with a single lens, allowing you to take another step forward or utilize soft, beautiful bokeh in your shots. In addition, with an outstanding maximum magnification ratio 1:2.6 at the 70mm end, you can create unique and powerful compositions that capture your subject in extreme detail. For example, with a simple zoom, you can transform a chest-up shot into a powerful headshot that captures every emotion.
